Different tools for different jobs
Checkly is excellent if you need Playwright browser testing, multi-step API checks, and monitoring-as-code with Terraform. It's a developer testing platform that also does monitoring. OnePageStatus is purpose-built for uptime monitoring and status communication — if your primary need is "is my service up, and how do I tell my users when it's not", we do that better and cheaper.
Better status pages, less money
Checkly's status pages are functional but basic. Custom domains and incident management require their $64/month Team plan.
